Soroptomists Swimathon Raising Awareness 2019
Myself and a team of warriors will be taking part in the Soroptomists Swimation on Sunday 24th 2019. We are going to be raising awareness for Invisible Illness’s/Conditions. I started my training just two weeks ago after having two years out the pool. Training is going well and it feels so good to be back in the water once again. Over the coming months I will be adding the swimmers stories and they will be sharing why they have chosen to swim. I will also be adding my own story to.
I am looking into getting t-shirts made to be worn and promote us further. My fellow warrior and team mate in the Swimathon Sanch will be looking into getting swim hats made for us also. Swimming is a very active sport so I am already anticipating flare ups between training. This is okay though. It’s going to happen its all part of my Fibromyalgia. I am never going to swim like I did before. I have come to terms with this. “It is, what it is” I quote, as a best friend of mine would say. No one can see our disability and I am not going to let it stop me from helping others like myself to. Myself and the team are doing this for all of you. I was so active before my diagnosis. I am lucky I can keep up with some sort of fitness routine.
